Texcel donates to local charity

Every winter, we make a donation to a local charity. This year we decided to make our donation to Re-instate. Re-Instate have worked at the heart of the local community since the early 60s and focuses on 2 main areas.

Firstly, it manages a comprehensive Employment service supporting local people experiencing Mental Ill-Health.  The service offers job retention and employer mediation, job preparation and searching, volunteering opportunities and bespoke Training, tailored to the individual’s needs.  In recent years, their offer has been enhanced by the development of an Early Intervention Project, offering support before an individual reaches crisis point.  They also provide Training and advice to local organisations looking to understand the best ways of supporting staff struggling with their Mental Health at work.

Secondly, Living Well is the charity’s project to support people with Learning Disabilities and Autistic Adults, through a range of groups designed to develop life skills.  These include kitchen confidence, arts and crafts, drama, a walking group, men’s and women’s groups as well as Spectrum, a discussion group for Autistic young adults.

Peter Shawyer, of Texcel said “We wanted to donate to this charity because they are local, they address mental health issues around the workplace which is a pertinent issue in the current business climate”
